A Tribute

Five years later and it’s not better, it’s different.

For all the faults of my father, I still miss him terribly. Most importantly I miss the friendship we could have had as adults. I would have loved to share all of the adventures I’m having-a trait I’ve gotten from him.

His absence weighs heavily as my wedding day approaches and I recognize this 5 year mile stone.

In recognizing this 5 year mark, I can also note that Bear and I met 5 years ago this time of year. Our first date was exactly 1 month after my dad passed away. It seemed fitting to celebrate our marriage almost 5 years after meeting.
